New Year’s Day turned into a busy day for Indiana County’s First Responders.
The first call of the day was for utility lines down along Starford Road in Cherryhill Township. The Cherryhill Township firefighters were dispatched at 4:53 AM. Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were called at 5:43 AM for a smoke investigation along 422 West.
A vehicle accident was reported along Route 422 East in Pine Township. Pine and Cherryhill township fire crews, Black Lick EMS and State police were dispatched at 9:13 AM. That was the first of three accidents on the day, with the second happening at 6:55 PM on Route 119 North in White Township, bringing out the Indiana fire association and Citizens’ Ambulance. And Armagh firefighters were dispatched at 8:27 PM for a crash on Route 22 East in East Wheatfield Township. Details on the crashes have not been released.
A structure fire was reported along Route 422 East in Pine Township. Pine and Cherryhill Township fire crews were called out along with the Nicktown, Nanty-Glo and Hope fire departments and the RIT team. Details on the fire have not been released.
