Rose Ann Thounhurst, 86, of Indiana, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
A daughter of the late John M. and Edith L. (Bucci) Thounhurst, Rose Ann was born Feb. 11, 1938, in Avonmore.
Rose Ann was a graduate of Bell-Avon High School and retired from Verizon, formerly Bell Telephone, where she was a Field Clerk. Rose Ann had lived in Indiana since 1958, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and her circle of many friends. She was loved, and her absence will leave a void in our hearts.
She is survived by a brother, Thomas E. Thounhurst and wife Deborah, of Nellysford, Va; a sister, Gertrude “Trudy” J. Filipek, of Alexandria, Va; a sister-in-law, Mary Thounhurst, of Summerville; and a few nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John M. Thounhurst.
In accordance with Rose Ann’s wishes, there is no visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at a future date. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
