INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
An Indiana man was charged with making false reports to police concerning a hit-and-run accident on January 14th.
Indiana Borough police officers were called out at 8:39 PM to the accident scene in the 300 block of South 4th street. Police discovered that a parked Lincoln sedan was hit by a passing vehicle that fled the scene. A few days later, the offending vehicle was found later on and police found it was registered to Taylor Sichko of Indiana. When police interviewed him, he tried to implicate someone else as the driver of his vehicle when the accident happened.
On top of the false reports charge, Sichko also faces a charge related to permitting violations with the vehicle code.
A Meadville woman was charged with public intoxication after an incident on Thursday on IUP’s campus. Police were called to the Hadley Union Building for a report of an intoxicated woman around10:38 PM. Officers said the woman, 24-year-old Arianne Demarco was under the influence to the point that she was a danger to herself and others. She was taken into custody and later transported to IRMC, where she was released to a sober adult. Charges were filed through district judge Tony Sottile’s office.
