The high school basketball season turns a corner tonight with the semifinal rounds beginning for both the girls on the Heritage Conference “Road to the KCAC, Presented by First Commonwealth Bank.” While there are still some regular season games scheduled between now and the start of the District 6 and WPIAL playoffs, the postseason action begins with two girls games tonight and two boys games tomorrow night.
Undefeated West number one River Valley welcomes East number two Portage tonight while East top finisher Cambria Heights will host West number two Penns Manor. Both games tip off at 7 and both will be on Renda Digital TV. You can watch the action on any of the Renda Media websites.
Tomorrow, the boys take the court with West number one West Shamokin playing host to East number two Conemaugh Township, while West number two Homer-Center will visit East number one Portage.
Meanwhile, the WPIAL playoff brackets are set to be released next Monday. The playoff-bound Indiana girls are scheduled to play West Mifflin tonight at home, at Penn Trafford on Thursday, and at home again on Saturday against Plum to close their regular season. The Indiana boys will play twice this week, against Shaler at Fifth Street gym tomorrow and at Plum on Friday, and again a week from today at home Greensburg Salem.
