Last night, Blairsville Borough Council formally approved the ordinance to join the county’s Emergency Medical Service agency.
Blairsville becomes the 26th municipality to join the consortium, whose purpose is to administer emergency medical services across the county on a sustainable basis. Many of those who passed the ordinance to join the group did so at special meetings held at the Homer-Center High School late last month. Councilman Ab Dettorre said while the council attended and listened to the presentation, they decided to take it back to their council to see if Blairsville citizens had any concerns.
The borough council also approved a motion to advertise for the police secretary position.
