A Vandergrift man who served as a security officer in the Homer-Center School District faces a charge of corruption of minors in Vandergrift from 1991.
An affidavit of probable cause against 59-year-old Anthony Depanicis states he was involved in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl that started that summer. He allegedly invited her over to his house, exposed himself to her and the two had sexual relations. Investigators said they met for sex approximately 100 times over the next three years.
Depanicis is free on $10,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 4th in front of District Judge Cheryl J. Peck-Yakopec.
State police said when the charge was filed this weekend that the case did not happen at or involve anyone with the Homer-Center School District. Superintendent Ralph Cecere said that Depanicis’ employment was terminated after school officials learned of the arrest. He also said anyone who had any concerns could call his office at 724-479-3601.
