Robert W. Simpson, 88, of Indiana, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born on April 18, 1936, in Indiana to the late Mark and Ruth (Weaver) Simpson. Bob graduated from Indiana High School in 1954 and honorably served our country in the United States Army as a tank recovery specialist.
Bob worked most recently as the superintendent of buildings and grounds for Graystone Presbyterian Church before his retirement in 2004. Bob ran the Antique Tractor Show at the Indiana County Fair. He was known as someone who would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone in need.
Bob is survived by his wife of 20 years Crystal (Snyder) Simpson, of Indiana, daughter Connie Decker of Indiana, daughter Patty (Ken) Davis, of Elderton, seven grandchildren, Ryan (Paula) Simpson, Josh (Jamie) Simpson, Marissa (Kyle) Bruno, Chad (Megan) Davis, Seth Davis, James Decker, and Isaac Decker, twelve great grandchildren, two sisters Marty (Adam) Yachisko and Janet Temple, as well as daughter-in-law Pam (Harry) Stinson.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Iradell (Swigart) Simpson, a son James Simpson and a brother Donald Simpson.
Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Graystone Presbyterian Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Joe Stroup officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
