Firefighters were called out to a fast-food restaurant in White Township for a fire in its kitchen.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Indiana Fire Association at 6:11 PM to the McDonald’s location on Oakland Avenue in the Regency Mall complex. Assistant fire chief Bob Henry said that the fire was in one of the fryers.
Crews did see a small fire when they entered the building, and it was quickly put out. from Indiana firefighters stayed on the scene to ventilate the building. The fryer did not take on much damage. Henry said the restaurant’s fire suppression system in the kitchen was triggered and will need recharged.
