More college football stars are visiting the Steelers practice facility.

Yesterday, the team hosted Texas A&M’s Shemar Stewart, a 6-5 267-pound outside linebacker and defensive lineman.  Also visiting the Steelers on Friday were Kansas State running back DJ Giddens and SMU defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte.

The spring has been a difficult one for first responders, with fatal accidents, wildfires, and the storms and resultant power outages. What are the biggest challenges facing volunteer fire companies?

Personnel.  The average age of a Pennsylvania firefighter is 48.  
Equipment.  New fire trucks start at $500,000 and can top $1 million.
Mandates.  Their training requirements are too difficult.
Danger!  A first responder is always in jeopardy.
