The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has dropped its case against White Township-based Reliant Holdings.
The case was ended “with prejudice”, meaning not only the case is over, but the bureau cannot bring the same charges before the US District Court in Western Pennsylvania. The company was charged with tricking customers into signing up for high-fee credit cards.
Reliant, who employs 70 full time employees, provides different options for credit related products and services to individuals that are underserved by financial institutions, and gives their customers access to credit and benefits that they feel they deserve. The business has been in operation for over 20 years.
