Steelers General Manager Omar Khan has announced the release of Ryan Watts from the team.
In a statement, Khan said that this came after consultation with medical experts and Watts’ representatives. Watts was drafted by the Steelers in 2024, but suffered a scary neck injury in the 2024 pre-season finale against the Detroit Lions. Khan said that the move was in Watts’ best interest and will continue to assist and support him as he moves on from playing football.
