Last night, the Center Township supervisors approved a resolution to request money from the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The application is for $190,501 from the DCED’s Multimodal Transportation Fund and will be used for paving in the community of Myr-walt. Supervisors Chairman Matt Housholder said that the project will not start until the gas company finishes its work.
It was also announced last night that people are being asked to call Sarah Shaffer, the township’s EMA coordinator, concerning any damage sustained on properties in the township during last week’s windstorm or the hail that came through Sunday. She will be able to report this information to the county EMA authority in the hope that disaster funding will come to Indiana County to help with recovery efforts.
