While today’s court schedule is dominated with DUI criminal call hearings, a plea hearing is scheduled for an Indiana man charged with robbery and assault.
Today marks the third attempt at a plea court hearing for Jamie White, Jr.. The 23-year-old man is charged with robbery, robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault and possession of a weapon for an incident on September 8th of 2022. Indiana Borough Police accuse him of approaching a woman near the intersection of South 7th Street and Gompers Avenue at 1:00 in the morning and demanding money from her. He allegedly had a knife with him at the time. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money but the victim was not hurt. He was arrested the following day after police tips lead to his whereabouts.
Court documents showed that he was not competent to stand trial in February of 2023, but in July of that same year, he was declared fit to assist in his own defense.
