Nancy Lee Smith, 84, of Marion Center, passed away on Saturday May 10, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 11, 1940, in East Mahoning Township, Nancy was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Violet Grace (Rishel) Smith. Nancy was a member of The Methodist Church in Marion Center, where she served for 43 years as the financial secretary and in other various committees. Nancy graduated from Marion Center High School in 1958 and Indiana Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. She was employed by Indiana Hospital (IRMC) for 43 years until her retirement in 2002. Nancy enjoyed nursing very much, especially during the 24 years she served in the emergency room. Nancy loved traveling so much, she was able to visit 49 states and visited Germany five times. Of those five trips, three of them were to visit her brother Frank during his time in the military, then twice to the Passion Play in Oberammergau and the surrounding area. Nancy loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, caring for them just as a second mother, Nancy is survived by her brother Frank Smith and wife, Margaret of Marion Center; two nephews, Douglas Smith and wife Debbie, of Allen, TX, Robert Smith and wife, Andrea of Quakertown, niece, Glenda Pearce of Marion Center, two great nieces, Rachel Russolillo, and husband, Joe of Hartford, CT, Alexandra Iseli of Dallas, TX and great nephew, Mason Pearce of Marion Center. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant brother Paul Neal Smith.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday May 14, 2025, at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7 th St., Indiana, with additional visitation from 10AM until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11AM on Thursday
May 15, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kyle Eisenmuth officiating. Interment will be private in Marion Center Cemetery.
