William T. Scibek, 81 of Indiana, died in his sleep the evening of Wednesday, January 22, 2025 while a resident at the Communities at Indian Haven. Born in South Hampton, NY, September 5, 1943, Bill was a son of the late Telesfor Scibek and Elizabeth Mary (Falkowski) Scibek. He was the husband of Charlotte Joyce (Pless) Scibek who resides in Indiana.
He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War but was stationed stateside as part of an artillery battalion.
After moving to Indiana in the late 1970’s he worked as a mechanic and electrician
for R&P Coal Company until his retirement.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doted on his grandchildren whenever
possible. If someone needed help fixing, remodeling or building anything,
Bill would be among the first to volunteer.
In addition to his wife of 38 years, Bill is remembered by two sisters,
Barbara and Elizabeth who live on Long Island, and two children, Geoffrey
Scibek, of West Virginia and daughter Sydney Baskinger of Houston Texas.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, (965 Phila. St.) in Indiana. Pastor Steve Rearick will officiate.
