In the PIAA District 6 single-A semifinals, Juniata Valley beat Northern Cambria 10-2 yesterday. Nate Rodkey of Juniata Valley was 2-2 at the plate, walked twice, scored twice and had an RBI. Nearly all of Juniata Valley’s players had a stolen base recorded on the day. For Northern Cambria, Shane Gissler was 1-2 with a run scored, and Brad Valeria had an RBI and a sac-fly.
The win puts Juniata Valley into the Championship game which will be played against Either Homer-Center or Blacklick Valley. That game was scheduled for yesterday, but due to the heavy rain, it was postponed to today at 6:00 PM at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City. You can watch the game on Renda Digital TV starting at 5:45. That game will be presented by the Homer City American Legion and the Homer City Area Athletic Booster Club.
