A new agreement between the Penns Manor School District and the union representing its nurses, secretaries, cafeteria staff and others is up for approval tonight.
The agreement is coming after over a year of negotiations between the district and the Penns Manor Educational Support Professionals. In April, the union said that their members were stretched thin with 10 vacancies that needed filling, and a majority of the members making less than $14 an hour. Details on the contract have not been released, but if approved, it will be retroactive to July 1st of 2024 and run to June 30th of 2027.
The board will also consider a motion to repeal the per capita tax effective at the start of the next school year.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:00 in the district board room.
