George F. Hoke, Jr., 87 of Blairsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 1, 1938 to George Hoke, Sr. and Stella (Zajac) Hoke. George served in the US Army. He was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville. He worked at National Roll in Avonmore, PA for 35 years. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and any outside activity, especially sled riding with his children & grandchildren. He tinkered on many cars, trucks and motorcycles over the years. George was a skilled craftsman, building his family’s home. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World, bike riding and hiking the Smoky Mountains.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores (Hogan) Hoke, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Teresa Hoke, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Sandy (Steve) McCoy, Latrobe, PA; son, George (Heidi) Hoke, III, Purcellville, VA; grandchildren: Andrea (Marven) Khalid, Pittsburgh, PA and George IV & Julia Hoke of Purcellville, VA; great grandchild, Atta Khalid, Pittsburgh, PA and also many Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernadine Pustay, Mary Campbell, Patricia Horrell & Jayne Wolford; brothers, Vince, Stephen & Adam Lisicki and Joseph Lynn and also his grandson, Adam Baker.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A blessing service will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Segundino officiating. Interment will follow in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA with military services conducted by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard and the US Army. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
