Wilbur Dotel threw six shutout inning, striking out eight and giving up just two hits and a walk as Altoona clipped Richmond, 2-1 in their series opener. Maikol Escotto, Termarr Johnson, and Aaron McKeithan all had two hits. The game was delayed by rain for an hour and 34 minutes in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Sammy Siani returned to the Curve lineup for the first time since being placed on the injured list on May 16th with a hamstring injury. He was 0-for-4.
The Curve and Flying Squirrels will play a doubleheader today to make up for Tuesday’s rainout. Po-Yu Chen pitches for Altoona in the first game at five o’clock. Jarod Bayless will throw the second game.
