Pirates pitcher Dennis Santana was suspended by Major League Baseball for four games for his interaction with a fan in the second game of a double-header on Thursday.
He was seen leaping and trying to swipe at the fan from the bullpen. What the fan said to Santana was not released, the pitcher said that the fan “crossed the line a few times” with his comments. Santana appealed the decision, which will allow him to continue to play while the league reviews the evidence.
