The Indiana Area School Board is poised to adopt a budget of more than $69 million on Monday, with a projected real estate tax increase of 5.013 percent. Service agreements and contracts are also on the agenda, along with about three dozen extra duty positions, other preparations for the new school year, and the immediate resignation of board member Dr. James Shaffer.
The Marion Center School Board on Monday will vote on a proposed $30.25 million budget. The plan includes a 5.54 percent increase in real estate taxes. The board will also vote on the creation of a $700,000 assigned fund balance for special education and a $400,000 balance for curriculum, instruction, and technology, using funds from the 2023-24 budget.
Other actions up for consideration are the award of a $99,250 contract for fencing at the Rayne Elementary School, a number of agreements for services during the coming school year, and multiple personnel decisions.
River Valley’s school board will meet on Tuesday.
