While Mack Park Pool has reopened under Coronavirus restrictions and rules, the Homer City Pool will not open for the season.
The news was announced during Thursday night’s Homer-Center School Board meeting. Two reasons were given for the closure of the pool for the season. Michael Schmidt, who represents the district for the Homer City Parks and Recreation Commission, said one reason was they could not get enough lifeguards to staff the pool. The other was the delay in construction season due to the Coronavirus pandemic as they wanted to work on renovating the pool house.
Earlier this year, the Saltsburg Pool announced they would not open this year due in part to the pandemic regulations and due to finances.
