The Pennsylvania State Police announced this afternoon that they have taken Thomas Edward Lindsay, 20, of Indiana, PA, into custody.
Lindsay was wanted for robbery, terroristic threats, theft, and receiving stolen property following his alleged involvement in an armed robbery at a White Township residence Tuesday afternoon. He is also a suspect in the drive-by shooting that took place the same afternoon on 3rd Street in Indiana.
Lindsay is awaiting his preliminary arraignment. Lindsay was taken into custody without incident earlier today at a residence in White Township.
State police say Lindsay was charged for the first incident Tuesday before the shooting in Indiana Borough. Troopers learned of the home-invasion style theft as they were assisting the borough police with their investigation. The theft happened in the 400 block of Center Street in White Township around 1:00 PM. The victims, an unnamed 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, reported that three men, forced their way into the home, brandishing handguns, and demanded money from the two. The three also ordered the victims to disrobe and they were searched for narcotics.
The thieves took a small amount of marijuana, several vape pens, two cell phones, and about $500 in cash. No injuries were reported, but both victims identified Lindsay as one of the three suspects.
Lindsay was then charged earlier today by Indiana Borough Police with two counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, and carrying a firearm without a license for the shooting on 3rd Street at 4:10 in the afternoon. After an argument with the victim, Lindsay allegedly rode in a vehicle by the house and fired three shots at the victim. There were no gunfire-related injuries, and the car sped off after the shots were fired.
This investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as appropriate. Anyone with information is asked to immediately contact Troop A, Indiana at 724-357-1960.
