Only three people have applied for the vacant school director’s position on the Indiana Area school board, and a motion before the board Monday would move all three candidates to the next phase of the selection process. According to the agenda, the applicants will be discussed and a new member could be appointed and sworn in, all at the same meeting.
There are numerous other items to be considered in preparation for the coming school year, and the board will also consider donating the light poles at the stadium, which are no longer needed due to replacement, to White Township. The tax appeal settlement with the Indiana Mall is also on the agenda.
The United school board has scheduled a special meeting on Tuesday, with three items on its agenda: approval of a bid for the high school generator installation project, approval of a lease agreement for 250 iPads and related technology, and the appointment of an assistant band director.
A schedule change for the Marion Center school board: rather than holding a work session on July 21st and a voting meeting on the 28th, the board will now combine those two meetings into one on the 28th.
