The Pirates’ Paul Skenes has been named the starter for the National League in Tuesday’s All-Star game in Atlanta. It will be the second straight All-Star start for the second-year pitcher, as be becomes only the fifth player ever – and the first pitcher – to start an All-Star game in his first two seasons. The others are all Hall of Famers: Joe DiMaggio, Ichiro Suzuki, Rod Carew, and Frank Robinson.
