Six fire departments, Citizen’s Ambulance and the county Rapid Intervention Team were on the scene for a house fire this morning in West Wheatfield Township.
Indiana County 911 sent the Clyde, Armagh-East Wheatfield, Bolivar and New Florence fire departments, Citizen’s and the Rit Team out at 9:20 this morning to 1202 Germany Lutheran Cemetery Road in West Wheatfield Township, while Brush Valley and Blairsville fire companies were called to the scene nine minutes later. Clyde Fire Department 2nd Assistant Chief Tyler Hoffman said that smoke was coming out of the cellar when he arrived on-scene.
He said an air conditioning unit in the basement caught fire. They were able to put it out quickly. Damage was minimal and the family was able to continue to live at the house.
