Arrest made in double murder of “American Idol” executive and her husband

Police say that an arrest has been made after an “American Idol” executive and her husband were shot and killed in their Encino, California, home. CBS News Los Angeles reporter Jeff Nguyen has the details.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
