A state police fire marshal says Friday morning’s fire at the former Eastern Orthodox Foundation complex in Cherryhill Township was arson.
Trooper Keith Sobecki did not describe how or in what area of the former kitchen and dining hall the fire was set. Six fire companies responded Friday morning and firefighters returned to the scene off Route 422 on Diehl Road later in the day and again early yesterday morning when it rekindled. Damage is estimated at $750,000. The building was unoccupied. Another large building on the property was destroyed by fire last October.
Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact Trooper Sobecki at 724-832-3256 or PSP Tips toll free at 1-800-472-8477.
