Etan Patz case reopened after conviction overturned

A federal court has thrown out Pedro Hernandez’s conviction for the 1979 murder of 6-year-old Etan Patz. The ruling opens the door to a new trial in one of the nation’s most infamous missing child cases.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
