Three fire departments were sent out for a brush fire yesterday in Indiana County.
Marion Center, Plumville and Rossiter firefighters were called at 9:10 PM to a location on Route 119 North in East Mahoning Township. Officials from the Marion Center Fire Department said that the fire was near the intersection of 119 and East Creek Road. The fire was in a 100 x 100 foot area, and it was a controlled burn. This marked the 71st brush fire call of the year.
The large response was due in part to Plumville and Marion Center fire crews also on the scene of an automatic fire alarm activation at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home that came in at 8:29 PM. That call was also deemed a false alarm, as it was just a faulty alarm head.
