Another session of the State Police’s Camp Cadet program is in the books.
State troopers joined with several other agencies to educate 16 young cadets at Camp Seph Mack near Penn Run through demonstrations and presentations. Along with a look into law enforcement, attendees received CPR and “Stop The Bleed” training. At the end of the session, two previous graduates of the program were presented with $1000 scholarships to be used for college, trade or technical school education. Those two were Jessica Barger and Paige Clawson.
Officials with the program want to thank the Indiana County and surrounding community for their ongoing support. Since 2008, Camp Cadet has been run with donations from citizens going to pay for meals, lodging and programs so that they are offered to participants at no cost.
