COLD FRONT TO BREAK HEAT TODAY, BRING AFTERNOON/EVENING RAIN

We’re waking up this morning to showers and thunderstorms on our doorstep as a cold front moves through the area today. A few strong thunderstorms can’t be ruled out over southwest PA and northern WV this afternoon and evening.

Heavy thunderstorms could be hitting Indiana around 1 to 2 p.m.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
