Blairsville borough police responded to three incidents of public intoxication on Tuesday.
The first was at 8:25 am, when police responded to reports of someone believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance at the Dollar General along North Morrow Street. When police arrived, they found 33-year-old Joshua Hunyady of Blairsville sitting outside the store and under the influence. He was transported to Indiana Regional Medical Center and faces charges of public drunkenness and similar misconduct.
Later that day around 3 pm, police arrested 35-year-old Andrew Martin of Indiana after they received reports of an intoxicated person urinating in the parking lot of Sheetz on East Market Street. Martin faces charges of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and similar misconduct.
Just 35 minutes later, officers returned to same Sheetz location for another person who was under the influence. When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Alex Varrato of Blairsville to be intoxicated by a controlled substance. He was taken to the station and later released to a family member. Varrato is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
