IUP is getting ready to welcome students for the 2025–26 academic year, with classes beginning August 25th.
Move-in for more than 1400 new students will take place August 16th and 17th, with returning students arriving August 23rd and 24th. For the fourth year, IUP is offering a one-stop check-in at the Kovalchick Complex, where students and families can take care of administrative needs in one place before heading to residence halls. Welcome Week runs August 18th through 24th, with activities to help students get connected to campus and the community. One highlight is the Talon Walk downtown on August 21st, giving new students the chance to meet local business owners and community members.
The week wraps up August 23rd with a Crimson Carnival Block Party in the afternoon, followed by IUP’s 150th Anniversary Carnival from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Kovalchick Complex, featuring food trucks, carnival rides, a Ferris wheel, live performances, and fireworks. Both events are free and open to the public.
