Indiana’s boys golf team played its first Section match yesterday and came away with a 16-stroke win over Hempfield. Four Indians golfers shot in the thirties at the Indiana Country Club. Ryan Bell shot even par 36 and was medalist, with teammates Austin Schawl and Drew Brocious both a stroke back at 37, and Chace Force at 39. Will Steve shot 40 and Beau Raykes 41.
Indiana will play at Latrobe tomorrow in a matchup of last year’s two top Section finishers. The only two Indians’ Section losses were to Latrobe, including a sudden death loss on their home course.
River Valley’s girls golf team is 4-0 after wins over Altoona and Northern Cambria yesterday at Chestnut Ridge. The Panthers edged the Mountain Cats by six strokes and the Colts by 32. Madigan Dunlap led the way for River Valley with a 43. The girls will tee it up again this Friday hosting their inaugural scramble at Chestnut Ridge.
