Altoona took a four-run lead early, but Richmond scored eight unanswered runs over the middle three innings to knock off the Curve, 10-6.
Mitch Jebb scored from second base on a Termarr Johnson bunt in the first inning and Nick Cimillo followed with a two-run homer for a 3-0 Curve lead in the first inning. In the third, Esmerlyn Valdez crushed a three-run home run to make it 6-2, but Richmond scored four in the fourth off Dominic Perachi to tie the game, then added a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Curve pitchers walked eight batters.
Johnson and Cimillo each had two hits for Altoona. The series continues tonight with Wilbur Dotel on the mound for the Curve.
