Indiana County First Responders have been busy this morning with several calls for service.
Indiana Fire Association said that this morning, they were called out five times. Two calls were for odor investigations which turned out to be false alarms. One of two automatic fire alarm activations was at the Junior High building on North 5th Street which was a malfunctioning alarm. The location of the second fire alarm was not given, but fire crews said that the alarm was going off at the home of a hearing-impaired person. The fifth was at 6:26 this morning as crews went out to Hood School Road near Fyock Road for a tree on fire. Officials said that lightning hit the tree and set it on fire.
At 3:12 this morning, Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were sent into Derry Township in Westmoreland County to assist on the scene of a vehicle crash. Details have not been released by state police. And at 8:18, they were sent to Hill Top Drive in Burrell Township for a power line down across the road.
