Penns Manor, like many other school districts, is dealing with the possibility that the state budget is not going to be passed in time for the school year to start.
The topic was discussed by Superintendent Darren Johnston at last night’s meeting. Johnston said that while the district has enough in the fund balance to get them through November, they may have to take action to secure some finances as soon as next month.
He also called on lawmakers to get things moving as they are now six weeks past the state-mandated budget deadline.
Outside of that issue, Johnston said they are ready to welcome students and teachers back to school. He also reminds all high school students that schedules are open to view, and all transportation letters have been sent to parents, and should be in their hands by August 18th.
