DRY, HOT HEADED INTO THE WEEKEND, BUT RAIN COULD RETURN SUNDAY

We look to be headed into another dry stretch here to end the week and begin the weekend. Rain chances return for most on Sunday. A warming trend starts Friday and many spots across the region will be in the 90s again by Sunday.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
