While most of the cases in Indiana County Court today will be DUI Criminal Call hearings, there are two sentencing hearings on the docket.
One will be for 50-year-old Michael John Handwerk of Johnstown. He is charged with theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property for an incident in May of 2024. The other hearing is for charges of DUI and a summary driving offense against Alexis Pizarro of Waco, Texas, that date back to January of 2019. She had been a part of the ARD program, but that was terminated in 2020.
Both cases will go before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco today.
