Sentences were handed down in two cases in Indiana County Court yesterday.
In one case, Michael Handwerk of Johnstown, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft from a motor vehicle. The charge is related to an incident in May of last year. A charge of receiving stolen property was not prosecuted as part of the plea. He was ordered to serve a year of probation.
The other case was for Alexis Pizzaro, now of Milton, Florida, who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and a summary driving charge for an incident in 2019. She was a part of the ARD program, but her run in it came to an end in 2020. She was ordered to serve six months of probation for the DUI charge and to pay a fine for the summary driving charge.
