The Steelers will play tonight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second week of the pre-season. It will be another opportunity for the backup players to shine as most of the vets who sat out of last week’s game against Jacksonville will also sit out this week.
That includes Cam Heyward, who has sat out of training camp amid an ongoing contract dispute. Reports from CBS Sports say that Cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay have come to Heyward’s defense, saying the team should give him the contract that he deserves so he can come back to the field and play. This marks the second time in as many years that Cam has not taken part in practices during negotiations. Last year, it resulted in him signing a three-year contract with the team.
