Heavy metal icons Megadeth are calling it a career.
In a statement on the band’s website, frontman Dave Mustaine announced their next album will be their last and they will embark on a global farewell tour in 2026. Mustaine told fans, “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years.”
Megadeth formed in 1983 after Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica. They are considered one of thrash metal’s “Big Four” along with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.
