Chubby Checker won’t be attending the 2025 Rock and roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Instead of being enshrined as part of the 2025 class, the musician said he’s decided to skip the event to do what he loves doing the most – being on the road, playing a gig.
In a recent interview Checker said he declined the invitation to attend the ceremony after being informed that he wouldn’t be allowed to perform live. He said he told his manager that he wanted to be in front of a live audience, not a television audience, show that he’s alive and well and she booked him a show.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2025 induction ceremony is set for November 8th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Outkast, and Cyndi Lauper are among the artists being inducted.
