A motions hearing is scheduled today for a woman accused of suffocating her infant child in 2024.
Court documents show that 23-year-old Patricia Ann Hullenbaugh is facing charges of criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, child endangerment and strangulation. Police said she initially called 911 to report that her child had stopped breathing and claimed he was hanging out of his crib with his face in a mattress. She later recanted her story to police and admitted to smothering the child with a blanket.
A supplemental omnibus pretrial motion for relief was filed in May of this year. This marks the third attempt to hold the motions hearing. A criminal call hearing is also planned for October.
A motions hearing is also on the agenda today for Joshua Brink. The 36-year-old Smicksburg man is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI and related crimes for a crash in 2021 where authorities say he veered off the road, went up an embankment, and killed 52-year-old Douglas Dalessio, who was mowing grass on a lawn tractor. The hearing will consider the defense’s request to exclude testimony in the case. His trial is scheduled to begin August 25th.
