In his first at-bat for Double-A Altoona, Konnor Griffin knocked a broken-bat single into center field. He later stole his 60th base of the season, but he had some problems, too, striking out, hitting into a double play, and getting thrown out at home on a grounder.
Griffin finished the night 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly RBI as the Curve beat Reading, 6-5, after trailing 4-1. Duce Gourson had three hits, a walk, and two stolen bases and scored the game-winning run in the eighth on a Tres Gonzalez sacrifice fly. Mitch Jebb had two hits for the Curve.
Wilbur Dotel starts for Altoona tonight.
