INDIANA GIRLS TAKE THEIR SWINGS AT FOX CHAPEL

The Indiana girls took on top WPIAL contender Fox Chapel last night and lost to them for the second time in a week, by 58 strokes.  Fox Chapel’s Ava Callandra was the medalist with a 40.  Indiana was led by Julia Antonacci with a 48.

The girls will play their third road match in three days today when they visit Plum.

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
