A two-vehicle crash in Young Township, Jefferson County, sent at least two people to the hospital after a driver failed to stop at a red light.
According to ExploreJeffersonPa.Com,, the accident happened on Wednesday, August 13, at the intersection of Route 119 and Alliance Drive. Kenneth L. Chewning, 78, of Big Run, was driving a Kia Sorento when he reportedly ran a red light, striking a Chevrolet driven by Richard L. Bair, 73, of Rossiter.
Chewning was taken to DuBois Hospital for his injuries, while a passenger in Bair’s vehicle, Laura L. Jenary, 71, of Punxsutawney, was transported to Punxsutawney Hospital. Several other individuals reported minor injuries but refused transport.
Chewning was cited for the traffic violation.
