Get ready for a taste of fall early next week! A cold front and large upper-level trough over the Great Lakes is on its way, bringing with it a refreshing change in temperatures. We’re even expecting dew points to drop into the 40s!

Raising Property Taxes

For a variety of reasons, many school districts are raising property taxes this year.  What’s to blame?

Inflation overall. Everything is more expensive, including running schools.
The state does not provide enough funds to local districts, especially those with low property values.
Charter school funding. I am already paying for my local district, but now I am paying for charter schools, too.
The cost of personnel. Wages, health insurance, pensions, and more are all going up.
School districts are not spending their resources wisely.
The whole school funding system in Pennsylvania is wrong. The system is broken.
