Laurence W. “Butch” Bollinger, 83, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at his home.
The son of Earl H. and Olive L. (Switzer) Bollinger, he was born on July 17, 1942, in Cokeville, PA (Westmoreland County).
Butch worked for Local # 1451 for 35 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Saltsburg Sportsmen’s Club.
Butch enjoyed his daily coffee with friends at Dean’s Diner, loved to hunt small and big game, gardening and giving away the vegetables he cared for, woodworking in his shop, cutting his grass, and playing Uno. He was a devoted Cincinnati Bengals fan.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Glenda J. (Stiffler) Bollinger whom he married on April 19, 1969; four children, Carlisle Fallon (John Ashby Marshall) of Alabama, Thomas Fallon (Linda) of Lewistown, Michael Bollinger (Beth) of Blairsville, and Rebecca Bollinger (Robert Ashley, Jr.) of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Brady Pfister, Ashley Kuhstos, Lindsay Hall, and Sara Bollinger; two great grandchildren; two siblings, Anna Drury of Florida and Jay Bollinger of Latrobe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Clarence Rhea, Wayne Bollinger, and George Bollinger, and his sister, Netta Varner.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Sunseri officiating.
Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.
